in the meantime...
While I search for the cord to our digi-camera, I'll post some info and random pics.
I know it won't totally suffice since everyone is biting at my heels for Halloween pictures!
Ramona is doing awesome. She just had a visit from Grandma and Grandpa in Massachusetts and she has declared Grandpa Um-pah. Not bad right!
THis week she started patting her own belly when I asked her where Ramona was and she gives me a hug when I ask where Mama is...all things that give us fantastic smiles.
Hopefully we'll have more dancing footage soon she gets new moves everyday and dancing is by far her favorite past-time. As usual we are loving this new stage in our lives and are getting pretty excited for the turkey holiday and santa which are just around the corner.

"Dirty Water"
What have you been doing all day? We've been re-watching the last 3 innings of game 5, going crazy for the Sox, and singing about the banks of the river Charles.

new bed, new car...life is exciting when you're 1.5 (almost)
I won't lie, i had a terrific week in the thrift stores! My second awesome find was a cozy coupe for Ramona, she really enjoys the door she can open and shut herself! Just today I found a wonderful snow suit which is bright pink with plenty of pockets, I will have pictures of that when it is weather appropriate. :)
I love thrift stores during the holidays season..there are oodles of non-sensical goodies to pick up. We also found Ramona's halloween costume..you will have to wait till halloween to see it, but i'll give you a hint.
Matthew is going as Christopher Robin. !

a wordy blog
So often we just post pictures but life has been too exciting lately!
Ramona is gaining a new word a day now!
Tana = "montana the dog"
choo = train
o.k. = o.k.
she also has this pretty adorable nod with a giggle when I have finally figured out what she wants to eat! Speaking of eating she must be in a growth spurt because she waltzes in to me every morning (pretty darn early) signing MORE!
The eating frenzy doesn't slow down till dinner..I have sent out request to many other moms for some advice on good snack foods! Her favorite last week was pretzals.
We are starting to feel settled in and Ramona and I have made some good friends. Last week we went to a friends house to play and much to my chagrin Ramona spent the entire time trying to get their dog to play fetch. After I thought about it, I realized that Ramona's personality is really shining through and her personality is that SHE LIKES DOGS! A lot.
Which is fun to watch. She likes other kids too but is reaching the point in her life where she recognizes the hierarchy and as of yet a toy she finds in groups of kids will NOT be hers for long!
Regardless she is a very lucky girl as you can see in the picture where she is jamming out to tunes with her papi via headphones!

Visit from Mary Rose and Rocky
Being the savvy individuals they are, Mary Rose and Rocky made a
stopover here in Denver on their way back from Idaho. It was great to
show them our new home!

Children's Museum
We got a membership to the Children's museum ad a gift from Grandma
and Grandpa Anthes-Washburn, and Ramona loved the place! They have a
great little kid section with a pretend village and woods.

VSA Colorado
Last night we visited the VSA gallery in Denver. Here Jamie, a member
of the board, is giving Kima and Ramona a your of the exhibit. Various
artists worked with the international symbol for accessiblity. Also,
there was an exhibit produced by a summer project where kids with
disabilities collaborated with graphic designers. It was the opening,
so the creators were all there, and boy were they proud! Our story if
being two kids of VSA directors was a hit, as well.

Anniversary
August 2, 2008
Six years ago, we met in this very backyard. The rest is history.
Five years ago, many of our loyal readers joined us for a nice meal to
celebrate our wedding, again in this verdant setting. Now our family
is bigger, and we celebrate the happy moments that set us on this
path, and the family and friends who join us in our journey.

838 miles to go - Greetings from Iowa
There are a few reasons why Cracker Barrel is popular out here. One is
the rocking chairs. Another is French Toast. Another is that there
aren't many other options!

1000+ miles
We've hit two milestones today:
1) Our first Crackerbarrel meal. How did we make it this far?
2) We passed the halfway point! Now it would take us longer to go back
to Boston than to keep going to Denver. That feels good!

Baseball Hall of Fame Museum, Cooperstown. It was our first time, even
though I always said I'd go on my way to or from school. We went early
in the day and it was great.
